Our Story

As most life changing events, they come to you unannounced ….

Our story begins while visiting a very unique Bed & Breakfast in Uruguay “La Atrevida” ( “The daring One”), a place where the owners are very nature oriented, vegetarian, serve their guests homemade, organic, from their own garden Everything. 

I couldn’t help but noticing that in their bathrooms they had  just soap…nothing special, supermarket bought, regular soap and shampoo, I approached the owners and told them ‘you should make your own soap too’  but they replied that it was too complicated, time consuming and they didn’t know how to do it.

Back in the USA, the idea stuck with me, shared it with my family and we started doing some research, bought books, watched videos, and being a certified aroma therapist, I thought “I can do this and make it mine!’ , so we  bought some excellent ingredients, and the first batch was under way…

Waited  days that seemed forever, and there it was…my own soap!  smelling great and looking ugly…right at that moment, we learned what became our motto and way of doing business, Pure & Imperfect , even though only pure ingredients were used, the soap came out the way it wanted, as if it was alive.

We learned to respect the purity of it and the unique character of each blend as they mirror the nature in each one of us…

After a year of researching, and  making mistakes I  went back to that little place with some of our own soaps.

They loved the product and out we went to purchase what was needed, made their first batch together and left them with some recipes as a thank you gesture for their inspiration.

Since that moment, they have been making the Atrevida’s soap for their guests.
